HelpAge India, leaders in the field of elderly care and support in India, with whom AVI has a knowledge sharing arrangement, have nominated the members of the Board of Trustees of Age Ventures India.

P.C.SenP.C.Sen :Mr. Sen is a product of Mayo College, Ajmer, St. Stephen’s College, Delhi and did a post graduation from Kings College, Cambridge, UK.

An IAS officer of the 1967 batch, Mr. Sen was a member of the Madhya Pradesh cadre where he held various assignments, the last being Principal Secretary, Govt of MP, Department of Commerce and Industry and Information Technology. At the Centre, Mr. Sen served as Director General, Civil Aviation, Chairman and Managing Director Indian Airlines and Chairman of Air India. Close to retirement, Mr. Sen was Secretary General, National Human Rights Commission.

Recepient of the Shiromany and National Citizen’s Award, he was one of the 12 conferred with the ‘Wings of History Award’ conferred on only three civilians so far, the other two being Mr J.R.D.Tata and Mr Karan Singh.

Post retirement, Mr. Sen served as Director of the India International Centre for five years. Currently committed to the social sector, he is a member of the Governing Board of Eklavya, the Sambhavna Trust, the National Foundation for India, Can Support. He is also Chairman of the Centre for Cultural Resources, Vice President of St Stephen’s Alumni Association and Vice President of Governing Board of HelpAge India.

Shanta ChatterjiShanta Chatterji :Chatterji is both a post graduate and law graduate from Mumbai University. She attended IIMA to do Business Management under its programme for young executives.

She has served as a Company Secretary to companies like Dr.Beck& Co, Rolas (India) Ltd and also companies of the Mahindra group. Way back In 1980 she took the challenge to help improve the environment and was involved in setting up Chattelec Vehicles India Ltd, to produce battery operated vehicles. She currently heads the Company.

Chatterji started work in the social sector in the ’80s, first as Secretary of Worldwide Fund for Nature later as Convener, Clean Air Island, Project Coordinators to various projects in Mumbai and Pune. Settled in Mumbai, she is a Member of Governing Board of HelpAge India.

Mr. SekharMr. S. C. Sekhar – Mr. Sekhar has completed his long stint of 37 years as Executive Vice President Finance / Projects with ITC Hotels.

A Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India, during his stint at ITC, he held various positions in different properties and in the Corporate Office and became a member of the Management Committee at the age of 38.

He was Head of Finance of the Hotels Division and in 1996 he took over the Projects and Growth wings of the hotel business in which capacity he saw major landmark assets being added to the group Hotel portfolio. He headed the core team that developed and established some great Luxury Hotels in India.
